China Center Brings Top Chinese CEOs to New York City

Key Chinese leaders are coming to New York City in early April to pursue business opportunities

Top Chinese business leaders are gathering in New York City for the second annual meeting designed to encourage partnerships among U.S. and Chinese firms.  The program began with a dinner hosted by Mr. Keyu Peng, Consul General, Consulate-General of the People’s Republic of China in New York, to welcome Chinese CEOs.  On April 6th, the Chinese leaders had breakfast with Seth W. Pinksy, President, New York City Economic Development Corporation to discuss new business opportunities through direct introduction to New York City’s business community, including leaders from the media and technology, fashion, green technology, bioscience, and financial services industries.  Then, in the afternoon, the CEOs gathered at the Morgan Library to present their insights on how political priorities, economic realities and business issues shape China’s growth and social dynamics. 

The afternoon panel discussions featured prominent Chinese business leaders. Wu, Ying, Chairman of China Capital Group;
Zhou, Chengjian, Chairman of Meters Bonwe; Feng, Lun, Chairman of Vantone Real Estate; Ding, Liguo, Chairman of Delong Holdings Ltd.; and Wang, Chaoyong, Chairman & CEO of China Equity Investment Co., Ltd. Will share their stories of entrepreneurship. Also, Victor Wang, Chairman and CEO of Mtone Wireless; Zhang, Bin, CEO of Wumei Holdings, Inc.; Chen, Qiwei, Chairman of ABC Group, Neil Shen, Founding Managing Partner of Sequoia Capital China; and Mao, Zhenhua, Chairman and CEO of China Chengxin International will talk about their perspective of China’s next golden decade.

The Morgan Library event concluded with a private dinner hosted by KPMG, LLC.

Other key members of the Chinese delegation include:  Cao, Xingcheng, Chairman of Group United Microelectronics Corporation; Chen, Dongsheng, Chairman and CEO of Taikang Life Insurance Co., Ltd.; Guo, Guangchang, Executive Director and Chairman of Fosun International; Guo, Wei, Chairman of China Digital Holdings; Lin, Baili, Chairman of Quanta Computer, Ma, Weihua, President of China Merchant Bank; and, Wang, Shi, Chairman of China Vanke Group.

On April 7th, more than 50 Chinese CEOs were hosted by the China Entrepreneurs Forum, NYSE Euronext’s CEO Duncan L. Niederauer and the Partnership for New York City for the second annual gathering of the China – U.S. Business Leaders Roundtable.

The Rountable was designed to promote business exchange between the two countries.  To explore these opportunities and confront the accompanying challenges, the event promotes candid dialog.  This year’s theme is China-U.S. Economic Relations:  In Pursuit of Mutual Prosperity.  The event concluded with a dinner hosted by Goldman Sachs and Taikang Life Insurance.
